What is incense boswellia?

Indian boswellia or Boswellia serrata is a deciduous tree, endemic to India, which grows on dry hills and slopes, on gravelly soil, at an altitude between 275 and 900 m above sea level. When injured (cuts), it secretes oleo-gum resin, known in India as salai, guggal, and in the West as Indian boswellia, olibanum or frankincense. The resin is yellow to orange and closely resembles the African varieties of Boswellia carterii, although it is usually darker and more opaque. Boswellia serrata Indian incense is probably the most extensively researched variety, boasting an ancient tradition, both medicinally and ceremonially. Incense Boswellia or Frankincense is one of the most sacred resins in the world.

About the smell of Indian boswellia

Strong, spicy smell, citrus aroma. When burned, it emits more smoke than other boswellia varieties and smells much more spicy.

Effects of Indian Boswellia

In addition to medicinal purposes (research has shown that boswellic acids have an anti-inflammatory effect), Indian boswellia has also been used as incense since ancient times. It is considered one of the most important incenses, valued for its ability to purify and raise one's vibration at the same time. Incense has powerful cleansing effects on the body, mind and spirit. Used in meditation, prayer or rituals for a stronger connection with the divine source. Frankincense can promote spiritual growth by clearing the chakras and energy bodies, offering protection and strength. In this way, incense can greatly improve mood and bring a lot of energy. With incense, we can sanctify and purify the space before prayer or ritual, and in this way we can raise the vibration and more easily tune in to a higher light. Incense is a powerful tool with which we deepen our communication with our higher self during meditation.
It is less smoky than white sage, so it is a good alternative for clearing negative vibes. It fills the room with a sweet, balsamic aroma and positive energy.
