What is Sweetgrass incense?

Sweetgrass is one of the four sacred plants (tobacco, sage, red cedar and sweet grass) of indigenous (Indian) tribes in America. It is known for its sweet smell, due to its coumarin content. It is found throughout North America and Northern Europe below the Arctic Circle. Sweet grass usually grows among other grasses or shrubs. The stems of the grass are erect and hollow, growing up to 2 meters high.
Sweetgrass is also called Mother Earth's Hair and is usually braided. It has a very feminine energy and a sweet and soft aroma. The symbolism of the three bundles of string varies among tribes. In some they symbolize mind, body and soul, in others love, kindness and honesty. It is a traditional Native American incense used to attract benevolent forces after a purification ritual with white sage, etc.

About the scent of Sweetgrass

sweet, soft, somewhat reminiscent of vanilla.

Effects of Sweetgrass incense

Sweetgrass smoke is said to attract positive energies. It is usually used after cleaning the room with sage.

How to use Sweetgrass

Hold the bundle by the thicker end, light the other thinner end to make it smoke. Wave the air carefully to make it smoke better.
Another way is to tear off pieces of grass and add them to other incense on the embers or briquettes, as it does not burn as well as white sage or cedar on its own.

Incenses with which it mixes well

Sage, cedar.
