What is Yerba santa?

Yerba santa is an evergreen shrub that grows in dry and rocky areas, especially on the slopes of California and in the northern part of Mexico. The plant reaches a height of about 1.5 meters, has branched shoots and oval elongated leaves, which are dark green on the upper side and silver-grey on the lower side. It blooms from spring to summer and has tiny flowers - white, pink or purple. Yerba santa means holy herb.
