The cast iron Tetsubin teapot in the traditional style - without enamel coating on the inside, according to connoisseurs, gives tea the best taste. For correct use, it is important to read and follow the instructions Before first use and maintenance.

Tetsubin cast iron teapots are popular for their elegant design and ability to retain heat. In addition, the tea is prepared in a Tetsubin teapot for softer water, better taste.

Important instructions before first use and maintenance
- Before using the cast iron Tetsubin teapot for the first time, take a small cup of green tea leaves and put them in the teapot. Then fill the teapot 2/3 full with water. Cook for 20 minutes, turn off the heat and let stand for 5-6 minutes. Then pour out the dark water.

- Fill the teapot with water again and boil 6-8 times until the water becomes clear; the kettle is now ready for use. This process is beneficial because a chemical reaction occurs between the dissolved tannin in the tea and the iron of the teapot. A layer of tannin iron film will form on the inner surface of the teapot, which prevents the cast iron teapot from rusting.

- About 5 days after the first use, red and brown spots will appear inside, and in about 10 days it will appear white scales.

- After long-term use, the interior of the teapot will be completely red. If the water does not become cloudy, do not remove or rinse the liner. Leave it as it is.

- After use, empty the teapot, let it cool and dry inside. Cover it only when it dries. Do not leave water in the kettle when it is not in use. And don't cover it until the kettle has cooled. Wipe the lid dry with a cloth so that condensation does not wet the inside of the teapot.

Suitable heat sources for the Testsubin cast iron teapot: wood fire, gas stove, induction stove and electric ceramic cooker . The teapot should be heated gradually. With gradual heating, a small amount of iron is slowly released from the teapot into the water, which improves the taste of the water and also enriches the tea (Fe2+).

Precautions
1. Do not touch the inside of the iron kettle with your hands; do not clean the interior with a cloth or brush; do not use detergent, do not wipe.
2. Do not wash the hot teapot with cold water. Be careful not to cook with it dry - without water, as this will shorten the life of the iron pan and may cause the iron pan to crack. Also, be careful not to drop it, because the iron can crack.
3. An iron teapot is heavy and the weight doubles when you fill it with water. It is recommended that you only fill the teapot up to 2/3 with water. This prevents water from spilling over the edge during boiling.
4. If the teapot is not going to be used for a long time, coat the outside and inside with cooking oil and then store it in a cool, dry place. Before using it again, fill it with water, boil it, then pour the water out and then use it again.
5. Not for use in the microwave.

A few more instructions for use:
Hold the lid while pouring the tea.
For cast iron teapots, a suitable tea candle heater can be used to maintain the temperature of the tea.
