Vladimir Megre is a Russian entrepreneur and writer, best known as the author of the Ringing Cedars of Russia series (also known as Anastasia). Born on July 23, 1950, in the village of Kuznichi in Ukraine, Megre grew up with his grandmother, who was known as a healer. His childhood was marked by spiritual explorations, as he visited monks at the Trinity-Sergiev Monastery as a teenager, which influenced his later life and writing.
After leaving home at the age of sixteen, he moved to Novosibirsk, where he worked as a photographer and film director. During the period of perestroika, he seized the opportunities presented by the transformation of the Russian economy and became the president of the Inter-Regional Association of Siberian Entrepreneurs. Between 1994 and 1995, he organized trading expeditions along the Ob River, where he had a life-changing encounter with Anastasia, a mysterious woman from the taiga.
Between 1996 and 2006, Megre wrote nine books exploring themes such as family values, spirituality, and the connection to nature. His works achieved remarkable success, selling over 11 million copies and being translated into twenty languages. In 1999, he founded the Anastasia Foundation for culture and creative support, which contributed to the dissemination of his ideas and values.
Vladimir Megre is also known for his public appearances and conferences, where he shares his insights and ideas about creating "family domains," which represent independent and sustainable family units. His works have become the foundation for a socio-religious movement that encourages a return to nature and traditional values. His messages, emphasizing love, harmony, and respect for nature, have resonated with many readers around the world.
